X85 has been given a Lifetime Achievement Award! Thanks to all our teachers for their training that inspired us all to give back!
More details on the work of X85 over the last 15 years are here and here. Any alumnus or alumna or friends and family who are Indian citizens are welcome to contribute to the ongoing mission of the school.
Our classmate, Sandeep Seth (“Petha”) passed away in 2016, deeply mourned by his wife Amita, parents, children as well as his X85 friends. Sandeep was an avid sportsman, and especially keen on tennis, so we thought it would be fitting to organize a Tennis tournament to commemorate him. A large number of his batch mates contributed funds to the Trust to set up the tournament. With the full support of the school leadership, including Rector Father Jose Phillip, Principal Father Jose and the Vice Principal Mr. K. J. Devasia, and the teachers at St. Xavier’s School, the Trust was able to plan and execute the Sandeep Seth Memorial First Inter-House Lawn Tennis Tournament on 28th August. The tournament was organized at the senior, junior and sub-junior level. Although her husband was ailing, Sandeep Seth’s mother was kind enough to come on the day of the finals and give away the prizes to the winners. Father Tom Kunnunkal and Brother Ittoop were also present at the event, and two of the students also read out a message from Sandeep’s kids in the USA. It was a poignant and emotional occasion but also inspiring to see everyone come together to celebrate in the memory one of our own.

Welcome! It is a testament to our dedication to our school that x85 is usually one of the largest alumni batches at the DOXA Reunions every year! The reason is probably our thriving efforts to go beyond ourselves and help benefit students who have joined our beloved school after us.
Besides the official 12A and 80G certificates, we have offered the detailed ‘structure’ we have put in place for fundraising for our school, either as a platform for other batches to use, or as a template for guidance. x85 has a Trust, a Trust fund, section 80G exemption, and other structural elements such as a regular audit by CAs, that make it easier to raise funds and to track their actual usage. We have discussed this plan with Fr Augustine, SJ, and details will be made available here and on our website, x85.in, for those who want to use our platform or template, and at least one batch has already come forward to discuss a scholarship via the x85 platform.
(The x85 Trust’s first cheque went to partly fund the for the ICT Center for Kindergarten, and since then we have raised the corpus for five scholarships. Our first sponsored scholar, Chitra, has reached class 4 and is turning into a smart young lady against the odds she’s faced.)

Dear x85 Xaverians,
This is in sincere appreciation of the consistent commitment and support you, the Class of 1985, have been providing your alma mater through the x85 Annual Student Scholarships at your alma mater.
We now have the following three student scholarships supported by sponsorship from the St Xavier’s School, Delhi, Class of 1985:

I understand that your batch, via the x85 Charitable Trust, has collected a corpus the interest of which finances these scholarships, thereby ensuring the funding for the entire tenure of the students at St. Xavier’s School. And, consecutively, after that, for other students.
I am proud to acknowledge the commitment and loyalty that the Class of 1985 show towards its alma mater, St Xavier’s School, Delhi.

DOXA2013 – What a terrific annual reunion — probably the top reunion event among any school or college in India. Lights, music, atmosphere, great drinks across multiple bars, amazing food with a range of live counters – and of course, Ravi ke roll, Fateh ki kachori…world-class job by Ajay Dewan, Kanti Jain and all at DOXA.
It was the x88 (class of 1988) silver jubilee, and there were other anniversary batches celebrating their 30th, 35th, 40th years…but as usual x85, the class of 1985, was in strength, with the highest presence (about 30) among non-anniversary batches.
x85 continues its fundraising – with yet another scholarship completed by yesterday, thanks to chief whip and fundraiser Hasmeeth. He then had one drink for every x85er who contributed yesterday, and we carried him home.

This isn’t a new story. But it still holds a key message about setting priorities in our lives.
A professor of philosophy stood before his class with some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a large empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks about two inches in diameter. He then asked the students if the jar was full.
Just before the DOXA annual dinner, on Saturday, December 17, 2011, from 7-8 pm. After 8 pm, we merge into the DOXA dinner.

The x85 charitable trust presented a cheque for Rs 2 lakh to the Rector, Fr PT Augustine, at St Xavier’s School, Delhi, this afternoon (April 10).
The cheque was presented inside the all-new and still-in-progress Masti Ke Paathshala project at St Xavier’s, which the x85 Trust is partially funding, with the current contribution.
For the x85 Trust, this project is code-named MKP One.
MKP is an interactive audiovisual studio/classroom for the kindergarten kids.
Its formally called the Fr Richard Pereira Memorial ICT Center, and is where Mr Jack Imlay’s workshop used to be in our times, right next to where the kindergarten department now is.
St Xavier’s has has sent its thanks to the x85 trust (click image on the left) and also the receipt and accounts for the contribution..
